Who Was the “Real Winner” of the Republican National Convention?

The Republican National Convention was held in Cleveland last week. As a result, thousands of delegates, guests, protesters, police and media descended upon the city. Every hotel within 30 miles was filled with average rooms going for as much as $300-$700 a night. Every parking spot in the city was taken. The streets were full of people and at times it seemed more like New York City than Cleveland. The city and the citizens of northern Ohio were truly in the spotlight. I had the privilege of working in the operations of the convention as a greeter and usher during the event. Every person I met could not get over how nice Cleveland and its people were. As they left on Thursday night, many delegates went out of their way to thank me for the hospitality shown. Regardless of the outcome in November, one thing is for certain — Cleveland was the winner of this convention.
